A high school economics teacher by default, Alison found that the economic lessons were as deeply unsatisfying as they had been when she was a student.  Now as teacher, parent, and activist, Alison found that the textbook narrative was not acceptable in offering students a positive vision of the future and did not reflect the solutions that she was inspired by everyday. Adamant about the importance of offering students a solid education with a hopeful narrative, she began to dive deeper into economic analysis and inquiry. She now collaborates with local governments, organizations, universities, and businesses to develop and disseminate  a narrative that is mutually beneficial for all ecosystems.  Alison is a Certified Blockchain Expert, and is passionate about the potential of  complimentary currencies.  She has a Master's in Public Health, is fluent in non-violent communication, design and systems thinking, Spanish, and Swahili.  She has presented sustainable solutions at various conferences, most recently on the importance of changing economics education at ComCap2017.  She has certifications in permaculture and botanical medicine, served in the Peace Corps (Tanzania), and among many things, has been a farmer, a nutritional consultant, a translator, an activist, a yogini, a yoga teacher, and a mother.
