Designing anything invites us to consider what we want to change, and how to improve upon it.  Between experiencing empathy for a pain point, and prototyping a possible solution, there is a world of possibility.  Design-thinking teaches us to create solutions, not just products.  Designers take what is, invite diverse and divergent input, practice unfettered creativity to brainstorm solutions, and continue an ongoing iterative process toward solutions that work the best for as many as possible. Society is made up of various institutions of varying designs.  As the systems have been designed and adapted over time, how we interact with them will influence how they work. Social institutions, like education and the economy, can communicate

Learning to put the principles of non-violent communication into practice, we read and discuss books that revolutionize the way we see the relationship between self and society. The group relies on diverse perspectives to generate interest in one another's well-being.  The goal becomes solution-oriented actions to proactively resolve systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, and ecological devastation

Public Banking Movement

Peace Profits supports community education about the benefits of Public Banks.  These banks are based on a framework of responsibility, transparency and accountability and operate for the people instead of private shareholders.  As such, more money flows into meeting the needs of vulnerable populations and supporting the well-being of diverse communities.  

Time Banking

Part of a strategy to cultivate a currency ecosystem, time banking allows for a value-added economic paradigm shift that meets needs, enriches lives, and strengthens interpersonal relationships.  Peace Profits is helping to assess what works, what doesn't and enable the time banking model to reach critical mass and represent significant value.
